Had an absolute bombastic CAR CAMPING trip to Switzerland. Enjoyed it so much, weather was good, it dropped to -1 at night, but the camper had a really good diesel heater which kept it at comfortable and cosy 16 degrees inside. Camper was provided by 🤍roadsurfer Really good rental company. 🚐 Check out Roadsurfer here: 🤍 Cooked some German food for dinner and breakfast. Traditional Bavarian breakfast with amazing views. The views, the Alps were incredible. Spectacular beautiful mountains. I almost fell in love with the camper van ^^ It's small, fast, drives so comfortably, but has all the comforts of bigger camper van. So many smart built in goodies inside. Ah almost forgot, I had to board a train on the way to camp. That was a surprise I did not expect! What an adventure. Arriving for our last day of camping at Kagga Kamma, we got a chance to get some camp chores done at the stunning wild camp Bobbejaankrans. Our Overlanding adventure continues as we take the gravel road down into the Tankwa Basin, where we go offroad from the R533 into the Tankwa Karoo National Park; en route to our first night of camping at Steenkampshoek. After an incredibly beautiful camping experience we get in the hilux, engage 4x4 and make our way up to the top of the Gannaga Pass! A spectacular view! Solo camping (with my dog) Digger, we take the 4x4 to a forest and set up camp in a nice open area so I can use the telescope...it's an old one (over 20years) has a few bumps and damage but can still produce a good image. I used my iphone to take a picture but it wasn't as sharp as the actual image through the telescope eye piece. It was a very hot day, so I just had a chicken salad for for dinner...and a few cold beers! The evening cooled down and was perfect for falling asleep while listening to the crickets...I usually wake at dawn while camping but this time I had a nice long lay in. Digger was happy as always to be out in the bush, with lots to explore and sniff!
