▶ SUBSCRIBE! 🤍 Full Documentaries every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! The bushmen once ranged over the entire continent, but they were displaced by Bantus pushing south. They took refuge in the Kalahari and namib deserts long before the arrival of the Europeans. Those who did not reach safety in the desert were exterminated or enslaved by the Bantus and the white people. It’s not surprising that the majority have alcohol problems. Luckily there are still some families holding onto their culture and traditions… including their hunting methods. Their most powerful weapon comes from under ground. Using metal bars they dig holes looking for the round objects that they’ll use to prepare a powerful poison. Back at camp, the men prepare to make the poison mixture. Then they chew the roots of the poisonous sansevieria plant and mix the resulting paste with the insides of the larvae and the seed powder, producing a liquid powerful enough to kill anything. All that's left is to apply the poison to some arrows. With the performance of the appropriate ritual, the spirits will show the way to find game. This is considered necessary in order to bring good luck and keep bad spirits away. The hunt has begun. They have hit a male oryx. If the arrow has hit a sensitive area, such as the neck or the lungs, the oryx will fall down dead in a matter of hours, but if not, the slow chase can go on for several days. The arrow punctured the oryx's left lung, resulting in a slow, painful death. The Bushmen are, in fact, extremely respectful of their natural environment, as many anthropologists have pointed out. This meat will provide enough food for a couple of weeks. They preserve it by smoking, and it belongs to the community as a whole. ▶ SUBSCRIBE | 🤍 ▶ FULL DOCUMENTARIES | 🤍 ▶ TRIBES DOCUMENTARIES | 🤍 ▶ FACEBOOK | 🤍 ▶ TWITTER | 🤍 ▶ TUMBLR | 🤍

The San or Saan peoples, also known as the "Bushmen" are members of various Khoesān-speaking indigenous hunter-gatherer groups that are the first nations of Southern Africa, and whose territories span Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and South Africa.

Full Documentary 2004 When South African filmmaker Rehad Desai travels to the Kalahari to investigate global interest in ancient Bushmen knowledge, he meets Jan van der Westhuizen, a fascinating Khomani San traditional healer. Jan’s struggle to live close to nature is hampered by centuries of colonial exploitation of the San Bushmen and of their land. Unable to hunt and gather, the Khomani now live in a state of poverty that threatens to see the last of this community forever. One plant could make all the difference, Hoodia, a cactus used by Bushmen for centuries, has caught the attention of a giant pharmaceutical company. It now stands to decide the fate of the Khomani San. Bushman’s Secret features breathtaking footage of the Kalahari landscape, and exposes us to a world where modernity collides with ancient ways, at a time when each has, strangely, come to rely on the other. The Kalahari Bushmen (2002) - The controversial relocation of Kalahari Bushmen by the government of Botswana has provoked international condemnation. Subscribe to Journeyman here: 🤍 The Kalahari Bushmen have lived in the desert for over 30,000 years. “This is where we belong,” states a member proudly. However, the government disagrees. Last February, they ruled that the Bushmen must move out of the desert into settlement centres. Protestors claim they are being moved to allow foreign companies to mine diamonds, but government official Eric Molale maintains the move is “for their own good and the good of the nation.” Since then their mobile health clinics have been closed, villages dismantled and boreholes sealed in a programme of official harassment. First off I want to thank everyone that you see in my videos. It's my honor being able to bring and spread laughter and it would not be possible without each and everyone of you. I found something that I truly love to do. A lot of you don't know but for many years I owned and operated a diesel shop but I always knew in the back of my head I was destined for something greater. I wasn't making much off these videos but I kept going for the same reason I started. To make people laugh. The world needs it. Some days are better than others but when I sit down and edit these videos I cant help but think how far I've come. Not just on YouTube but in my life personally. Life is tough for everyone but being apart of the Bushman community has shown me to remember to laugh whenever I can. I hope you will always remember to be nice to people, (and bushes), you can change someone's whole life with a couple kind words from family, friends, or even a complete stranger. I think I'm going to take a short break to work behind the scenes for my upcoming coffee business with my family. We've been working hard to make sure to bring you all a product from us that you will love as much as these videos. That's why I never rushed to just sell yall t-shirts. I wanted a quality product. I hope you understand. Thank you all for being there to support me, it really means a lot. I hope you enjoy this compilation video of some of my favorite reactions. I will still probably be filming on weekends but editing takes so long to do and takes up the majority of my time. I should be back posting by the end of the month or maybe even sooner. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope, Purpose, Opportunities, Persistence & Determination -Joe Subscribe To This Channel ► 🤍
This is a second video I have done with the Hadza. I hope the content is good enough to overshadow the bad video and sound quality. In this video I show some of the highlights of my most recent visit with the Hadzabe Bushmen. I have not, and do not manipulate the Bushmen in any way for this or the previous videos. These are some of the last true hunter gatherers on the planet, I simply want to experience and learn from them. Enjoy and please refrain from leaving racist comments!
