Malaysia's former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) championed by U.S. President Joe Biden is inherently political, since it excludes China.
"When you have a grouping that excludes China [in the Indo-Pacific region], it is political and not [about] the economy," he said. "So that is a problem with the groupings that are formed by the U.S. They are always political."
