Stephanie Frappart will be the first woman to referee at a men's World Cup in Thursday's group-stage game between Costa Rica and Germany. The 38-year-old Frenchwoman will be joined by assistant referees Brazil's Neuza Back and Mexican Karen Diaz Medina at Al Bayt Stadium, forming the first all-female on-field officiating team in the history of the tournament. She is one of three female referees selected to officiate in the tournament, the first time it has happened in a men's World Cup. if we are fighting so hard for women to officiate an opposite gender-controlled tournament then we should be doing the same for men to be able to officiate women's world cup. like we shouldn't be celebrating this bc men don't officiate the women's world cup so why should it be the other way round

Why does no one mention the absolute blunder of a call these refs made during the game? Ball goes almost 2metres out of play and Navas kicks it back in like nothing happened... Play continues. Absolutely dreadful reffing🤦♂️
